Title Finance Manager
Role RecruitGibraltar are currently helping our client who is an experienced accounts professional to work in a Head of Finance role. You will work closely with the Finance Director and will be a key point of contact in the Finance team. The Company has a truly international footprint and thus this role requires someone with experience of UK VAT laws and ideally other countries and their import taxes. The successful candidate will ideally be a qualified Accountant or candidates qualified by experience would also be considered and be able to demonstrate a serious commitment to their career to date.

The Finance Manager is responsible for providing reliable and accurate financial information to management in order for them to have a basis to make informed business decisions. The successful candidate should be able to provide expertise in financial reporting and timely information to all levels within the organisation, as well as be able to maintain external relationships with tax and audit contacts. This role requires a keen attention to detail and a hands-on approach to improving and maintaining efficiencies within the department and around the business.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee the timely and accurate delivery of the month end management accounts
Prepare reports for FC and CFO including in depth variance analysis of management accounts vs. budget and the maintenance of Group schedules for capitalisation, interest and non-recurring costs
A strong knowledge of balance sheet accounts is required as the role will have oversight of all EU company balance sheets, including review and approval of monthly reconciliations
Posting and review of UK payroll including control checks and quarterly reconciliations
Cashflow management for the UK and US ability to manage cash and ability to forecast and communicate future funding requirements
Main point of contact for UK corporate and employment taxes; preparation and submission of P11Ds, PSA and similar
Maintaining consistent reporting formats for the Group and updating Group schedules for key financials
UK statutory company accounts preparation

Skills and Experience

ACCA/CIMA/ACA (or equivalent) 5+ years qualified
Strong management and leadership ability
Knowledge of European VAT is mandatory
Strong presentational skills and the ability to manipulate data into an attractive format for upper management
A working knowledge of Powerpoint and Word is needed, and a strong knowledge of Excel is mandatory
Background in Audit and/or UK tax a plus
Background in listed company environment a plus

Salary is circa 40k plus benefits package
