What is the plan for the Junior Accountant role?

The Accountant role is responsible for the regular and prompt preparation of high quality financial statements for a portfolio of clients consisting of Trusts, Companies and Partnerships as part of the Firms provision of fiduciary services.

What will you do as a Junior Accountant?

 Maintain accounting records in the client entity database
 Ensure the provision of accurate and timely financial statements prepared in accordance with relevant accounting standards for specific companies and trusts for audit and/or submission direct to the client and regulatory authorities
 Deals with resulting queries and accounting review points from third parties
 Preparation of tax returns as appropriate.
 Ensure that you have a comprehensive understanding of the transactions you are dealing with
 Ensure accounting procedure queries can be answered by researching and interpreting accounting policy and regulation
 Be fully conversant with a computerised accounting system and maintain a good knowledge of spreadsheet applications
 Ensure client expectations and accounting deadlines are properly managed
 Calculate the corporate management trust and accounts preparation fees of companies and trusts administered
 Provide information to Clients, Auditors and other third parties in a professional manner
 Advise and liaise with Company and Trust administration staff with regard to the accounting needs of clients


What do you know that makes you a great Junior Accountant?

 Experience in an accountancy or financial services environment.
 Qualified AAT / Studying towards ACCA, ACA
 Experience of dealing with complex and detailed financial information.
 Prior experience of preparing Trust Accounts would be an advantage.
 Detailed knowledge of accounting standards (IFRS, UK GAAP) and concepts
 Able to make reasoned and objective decisions based on sound accounting knowledge.
 Highly proficient in relevant accounting software
 Advanced knowledge of MS Office suite - Excel and Outlook essential.
 Experience of Viewpoint would be an advantage.
